Each island also has its own festival, with Praia and Mindelo holding the biggest ones in February. St. John's Day on Santiago and Maio islands is also worth watching. 

São Tiago and Fogo celebrate Tabanka in May and June and spend the days in music and abstinence. The festival of Bandeira de Sao Filipe on Fogo Island is held in June, while the Baia das Gatas Festival on Sao Vicente is in August.
